Dissertation - Mycelium single-use cup

My Dissertation looked into a fully compostable alternative to single-use cups. I designed a cup entirely made from mycelium, which is a sustainable and biodegradable alternative to the materials currently used.

Design Interactions - Bar Concept

A bar concept with individual segments that can be altered and made to fit into different areas in towns and city centres. The design uses a mixture of outdoor and indoor space which helps to create a very open plan design.

Repurposing retail space

A new way to get groceries. Through an ordering service at the shop and also an order collection service. The shop front shows ordering screens where customers can order their shopping and collect it pre-packed. This concept is intended for town and city centres.

Food Systems Challenge - What if conventional meat was replaced by insect-based food

An insect-based diet also offers many health benefits, with crickets containing 60 grams of protein per 100 grams compared to chicken which is 33 grams. Insects such as crickets also contain far more vitamins than traditional meat products, which will improve the population’s health and diet.

Meat and dairy production accounts for around 14.5 % of global greenhouse emissions, with cattle farming being the most damaging. By changing to insectbased food instead of traditional meat, mealworms, crickets and locusts emit 100 times less greenhouse gases than pigs and cattle.
