wMawElwMkwOdwRpcImwEmlSb or Memories (2022) is an eight-minute experimental short film which draws its inspiration from multiple experiential works. The film is narrated by the director guiding the viewer through what is being shown on screen, whether that be videos, images, or objects. Through the narrative guidance from the director, the film presents the director themselves as the first-person protagonist of the film (Sitney, 2002 p.160), taking inspiration from Stan Brakhage’s concept of the lyrical film.

Each chapter begins with a model train pulling into a shrine of the past, composed of most of the physical objects that still remain in the possession of the director.

Being such a personal piece, this experimental film was entirely produced and directed by Adam Miller-Bettridge in order to have an authentic and full connection with the work.
